Short Stories: Drama & TV Series — Privacy Policy

Last updated: 2026-10-07

Short Stories: Drama & TV Series ("the app", "we", "us") is a free, ad-supported vertical short-drama streaming app for Android. This policy describes exactly what data leaves your device, why, and who processes it. Nothing here is boilerplate — every claim below reflects the app's actual behaviour.

Short Stories: Drama & TV Series has no login and no user account. You never create a profile or give us your name, email, phone number, or any sign-in identity to use it.

The short version

number, contacts, photos, or precise location. The app never requests those permissions.

history, unlocked episodes, and your settings (language, theme, playback preferences) are saved only in the app's private on-device storage. We do not upload, sync, or receive them. Uninstall the app and they're gone.

(AdMob) loads banner and rewarded ads from Google's servers. These requests carry your device's Advertising ID and standard ad-request metadata (IP address, coarse device type, language). In the EU/UK a Google consent form (UMP) runs before any personalised ad is served.

app, so browsing needs no network. The app does fetch remote configuration from Google Firebase (Remote Config), and when an episode plays as online video it streams from a third-party content-delivery network (CDN). Those requests see your IP address, as any internet request does.

Messaging (FCM) to deliver update and campaign notifications. FCM gives your install a device registration token (an identifier) that Google holds to route messages; we attach no name or personal profile to it. Turn notifications off any time in Android settings.

Analytics, Crashlytics, or any behavioural-tracking SDK. Watch history is used only on your own device, to power Continue-Watching.

What stays on your device (never uploaded)

The following are stored in the app's private sandbox (Android DataStore) and are never transmitted to us or anyone else:

DataPurpose
Favourites / "My List"Show the dramas you saved
Watch history + resume positionPower Continue-Watching and resume where you left off
Unlocked episodesRemember episodes you unlocked by watching a rewarded ad

Uninstalling the app, or clearing its storage, deletes all of it permanently.

What leaves your device, and who receives it

1. Ads — Google AdMob (Google Mobile Ads SDK)

To serve and measure ads, the SDK sends Google your device's Advertising ID and standard ad-request data: IP address, coarse device/OS information, and app language. This is used to show ads, cap how often they appear, prevent ad fraud, and (with consent) personalise ads.

before ads load. You can revisit it any time via Settings → Privacy options in the app.

tied to a personal identity.

2. Configuration + push — Google Firebase

The drama catalogue ships inside the app (a bundled file), so it is not fetched over the network. The app does read Firebase Remote Config (feature flags + ad settings) and uses Firebase Cloud Messaging (FCM) for push notifications. These are network requests to Google, which see the originating IP address and standard request metadata; FCM gives your install a registration token (a device identifier) that Google holds to route messages. We do not write any personal data about you to Firebase, and no personal profile is attached to the FCM token.

3. Video streaming — content-delivery network (CDN)

Episodes are streamed as video over the internet. The CDN hosting the video receives your device's IP address in order to deliver the stream — the same as any video you watch online. No account or personal identifier is attached.

How long it is kept

We hold no account, so there is nothing account-scoped for us to retain. Ad and request data received by Google is retained under Google's own retention policies. On-device data lives until you delete the app or clear its storage.

Your choices and rights

requests (access, deletion, portability) are satisfied simply by clearing the app's on-device storage. For the ad and request data Google receives, Google is the controller — use https://policies.google.com/privacy to exercise those rights. You may also contact us at the address below.

Children

Short Stories: Drama & TV Series asks you to confirm you are 12 or older before watching, and its stories are written for a teen-and-older audience. It is not directed to, and we do not knowingly collect personal data from, children under 13. If you believe a child under 13 has used the app, clear the app's storage or uninstall it; because there is no account, no personal data is retained on our side.

We may update this policy; the "Last updated" date above will change, and material changes will be reflected in an app update.
